April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

My tank is reallly lacking flow. I need several powerheads around 2-4 will do and maybe a small one for my refugium.

You may also want to just look into doing a maxijet mod if you already have a maxijet.  check out http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/Plumbing-and-Pumps-Water-Pumps-Maxi-Jets-&-MJmods/c14_46_49/index.html

We use them for our frag system, and we have enough flow with 1 Modded MJ 900 for the entire tank of SPS frags.  Tank is 4' long x 18" front-back x 13" deep

I have a 900 or a 1200 maxijet I'm not sure which one I have to dig it up. I think I might try this mod, but I am concerned about the high level of flow. It might be too much for my bubble coral.

If you buy the magnetic holder, you can aim the pump away from the bubble coral.  Go with the smaller impeller and you can even run on a MJ400 and keep flow lower.  The other nice thing about going with 1 mj mod for flow instead of multiple powerheads, less heat added to your tank.

marine depot and drs. foster and smith have similar mod kits and magnetic mounting kits.

sorry everybody. I was helping a friend start a new business that I am a big part of (new job for me). Along with spending Thanksgiving in Mexico and the big one I got engaged. Hoping to make some more time for meetings so hope to see you all soon.

Sounds like life is good!  Glad to hear that.  Look forward to seeing you at a meeting in the near future.  When you are up, you will have to stop out and see our new set-up.  http://canfieldreef.com/home/tank will give you an overview of the build...haven't gotten updated pics up in a couple months.  Tank is up and going now.  The "old" 155 is gone.  Happy and sad at the same time about that.
