April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

If nobody else has any, we may be able to spare a small clump.  But it probably wouldn't be much...ours hadn't been growing much.  I just switched the lights back to 24 hour on to get things growing in there again.

It looks like he's pumping from one tank to the other, with a PVC siphon providing the return path in the middle.

I'll check the macroalgaes in my quarantine systems.  They're about the only things besides the seahorse tank which haven't been hit by my series of power and water issues recently.

That's what it looks like to me too, but not sure what starts the siphon if there were a power blip and the pump stopped for a few minutes.

yes, i use a PVC siphon to get water from the aquarium to the refugium, then my canister filter returns the water to the aquarium. My dad built the stand and PVC siphon so talk to him if you have questions.  Wink If the power or filter stops then the siphon will equalize the water levels in both tanks, but if the siphon stops then the filter will pump all of the water into the aquarium, which will make it overflow and then the filter will burn up when there is no water left in the refugium.
