April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Hi,

I am in the process of setting up my long awaited 210 reef and have pulled some of my old MH pendants out of storage.  These require double ended mounts.  My question is, are all bulbs the same?  In other words, the Giesemann bulbs that I have are (*^*^ expensive and I was looking to replace them with a lesser cost brand (of the same wattage).  Or an I stuck buying >$100 bulbs?

Ancillary to this would be - the best place to obtain such bulbs online.

Thanks for any responses.

ok, so I know this is a late reply...but I did find some bulbs on ebay that were VERY cheap. By themselves they are very greenish. But, with my actinics they are just fine. They are 175w 10K. I think as long as the actinics are on, these bulbs are just fine. Although, not the best....of course. Wink

What wattage are you looking for?

We are talking DE bulbs so I'll guess 250w.. 400w DE's are still fairly new so I doubt you would be pulling 400w DE's from storage.

You can get XM 15k 250w DE bulbs from Hellolights.com for $65 each.
