April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Darrel was doing a little tank maintenance today in preparation for the meeting here on Saturday, when he saw, to his amazement, a large crack in one of the front corners of the Euro-bracing on our tank!!!  Not only a large crack, all the way through the acrylic, but then some 'crazing' (sp?) - small cracks starting down the side of the tank, itself in that same corner. almost half-way the length of that seam!!  None of this is on/in the seam - but right next to it.  We are sure hoping the tank will hold together and not totally fail - any ideas for keeping it in one piece, at least until Saturday night when you all can take a look and offer repair suggestions???   Anyone who can offer some ideas, feel free to call us:  438-1199!!  Thank you.

Vicky,

The most frequent cause of cracking is from high heat to the acrylic.  To reduce the stress in the crack I would shut down the MH that is closest to it so the tank is not expanding and contracting from heat.  How wide is the crack?  It may be possible to fill with some weldon 40.

why don't you post a few pictures.
