January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

I read on Reeffrontiers that PETCO will have Lawnmower Blennies on sale all next month for $11.99. I have been looking to get a Blenny for a reasonable price for some time now. I was hoping to get one with my reeftopia order next week but they have been out of stock. I went to the Kennewick PETCO tonight to see what they have in stock and found that they have 3, but most of the saltwater fish there are exhibiting signs of Ich. I even observed one of the Blennies rubbing against a rock.

I will probably not buy one from PETCO as I don’t have my quarantine tank currently set up and it seems the added cost for medication, plus the cost and time to set up a tank would negate any savings on the fish. If anyone is currently treating for Ich with hypo-salinity or copper and is willing to adopt a Blenny for a while, please let me know.

I've been to both Petco's and yeah the Kennewick one the fish always look unhealthy.  The one in Richland the fish look a lot better.  Maybe check that one out might find one you like there.

I was bad.  I bought one from petco about 2 weeks ago for $12.99.  He seems to be doing well.  He hasn't stopped munching yet and is getting rather fat.  Smiley I did make sure I observed him for quite a while before I got him.  He wasn't rubbing on rocks and didn't have any spots.  I think I was just lucky.
