April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

If anyone is interested in a group order for Frag Plugs via E-bay or MGCL via two part solutions, let me know.   A group order can reduce the shipping costs substantially on the plugs and a little on the MGCL.  If someone wants to take the lead, that is great since I travel alot.  Will pay before order.

If anyone is in need of magnesium Chloride, Wayne and Susan are going to order some from two part solutions.  This is the same stuff the club bought and made up solutions of at Nate & Colleen's place last summer.  Check your stock and get in on this if you need some.

I bought this tank from les's neighbor, 7 months ago... we finally got it up and running Nov. 2007.  The tang in there was Les's first one... I promised I would take good care of her...  Smiley

Looks that there is some interest.

For the MGCL, you need to specify the amount, since there are various sizes.

For the plugs, you need to specify the quanity as well.  I am looking at the ceramic plugs, rather than the plastic.

An finally, anyone willing to step up to lead.  I travel so much it is not practical.  But, I am will to pay in advance any the items that I would order.  Looking a 200 plugs and 2 gal MGCL.

I'm interested too, just in Ca and Alk, but also looking at dosing pumps.  Let's discuss tonight.  If there's interest, and you can give me details, I'll lead the order.

OK, I'm officially taking the lead on this order.  I will be placing the order for anything and everything on their site for anyone that is interested in getting in on the order.  I've e-mailed them to see if we can get any discounts and/or addtional info about doing a large order with them.  If/when I hear back from them, I'll post here so you all know as well.  I know they also have MaxiJet mod kits, dosing pumps, Salifert test kits, and lots of other cool stuff on their site.

I've been using the 2-part solution method on our tank for 8 months or so now, things are doing very VERY well for us.  So, i don't think you will go wrong with this method of dosing.

I will take orders through the week after Thanksgiving, and will place the order on Dec. 3rd.  We will request FRIDAY delivery, as Colleen has Fridays off, and could be there to receive the order.  Livestock would need to be picked up that day, chemicals can be picked up over that weekend or the following week if you can't get there the same day.

Let the posting begin for these additives and other goodies!

Has anyone tried the Sure Flow 1600 MJ mod? Also it looks like one Sure Grip Magnetic Holder supplies magnets to attach two MJ pumps. Does anyone know if this is correct?

I am interested in the following:

2 - Sure Flow 1600 (Maxi-Jet Upgrade Kit)
1 - Sure Grip 50 Magnetic Powerhead Holder up to 1/2"
1 - One Gallon (4.5 pounds) Granular Ferric Oxide

Sub-Total: $134.96

Haven't used their MJmod, but am running modded MJ 1200's.  I love them.

RedSix, I've got your info, let me know if you change your mind and decide NOT to do the SureFlow 1600 MJ mods.  If I don't hear different, I'll be ordering 2 of them for you.

Also, so we are clear, unless I hear differently from 2-part that shipping will be free or something, I plan to split shipping cost via % of order total $ for each person.  Does this seem fair to everyone, or does anyone have a better suggestion?

I have decided to add to my order.

1 - The Total Package

Sub-Total: $184.95

Hopefully we get a break on shipping with the size of the order but if not, splitting it up seems fine to me.

Good news guys!  I just got response back from 2-part...they have a nicer way of doing things for clubs...no need for group orders, we just have to decide WHEN we want to do our order.  Then, we can each order for ourselves, and have it delivered to our own homes, but we'll still get the wholesale prices!  Also, the e-mail said that if we aren't in a big rush, they will be launching a much improved website in approximately 2 weeks, and if we can wait until then, they highly recommend doing so.  Anyone have any complaints with waiting a couple weeks to be able to use the improved website, and the additional discounts they say should be available for the club buys at that point?

Here's the info on club pricing for when we are ready.  Again, I will contact them when we are all ready to order (and after the new site is up if we agree to wait), once I contact them, we have a Monday to Monday window where we can all join their site, and order at wholesale pricing.  If for some reason we don't want to do it this way, I can do it the traditional group buy way and have it sent to my place as one big order (which I alone can place).  But, then you all have to come to my place to get your stuff instead of having it show up at your door.  I'm happy to do it this way if that's what works best for people, and we can get enough quantity of things to get additional discounts for quantity orders on some items.  I'll collect all the info on what we are planning to order toward the end of this week and then post here where we are, and where we fall on the quantity discount list.  If we can get good additional discounts for bulk orders, I say we go for the Group Buy, and I can bring things to the meeting for those that can't make it by my place before then.  Let me know what you all think.

Here's the info on club pricing for when we are ready:

Dear Reef Club,
We are offering an introductory special exclusively for reef clubs. For one week your club can purchase items on our site at wholesale prices. This is your opportunity to take a look at our wide range of bulk reef supplies and get them at WHOLESALE PRICES. There are no minimum purchases and no need to organize a group buy. Simply inform your club of the offer.
After your club decides on the week they want to start the promotion (Monday-Monday) all your members need to do is register for a regular account on our website and send us an email mentioning this promotion and the name of their club. We will update their account to a wholesale account that Monday and give them access to all products with wholesale pricing. Once the promotion is over we will return their accounts to regular retail status. *note* we are not here on Saturdays or Sundays so any requests for wholesale status on these days will not be updated until Monday morning. We will deactivate the wholesale status on Tuesday morning.
All the hassle of organizing a group buy, collecting payment, and distributing the purchase is gone. Each of your members who sign up will have their own wholesale account. They will be able to purchase what they want with no minimum quantity, pay for it and have it shipped directly to their own home or business. For the people in your club that prefer to organize one large order we offer additional savings with quantity discounts and combined shipping. *the quantity discount is only available for individual orders shipped to the same address and on the same transaction.*
Take a look at these incredible deals. Remember this is a one time promotion. Once it’s over it’s over.
